The Flower Mound Police Department listing still lists $60,000 and "Over 160 full-time employees including sworn and civilian positions." The pay plan prints $78,457.60. The listing prints $60,000. They are not the same figure. The Flower Mound Fire Department listing still lists $75,000. The fire packet still carries Firefighter Recruit $77,664.08 and Firefighter step 1 $81,742.96. Those fire figures are not this officer cell.

Flower Mound Fire hires on a separate schedule. This page is the officer door, not the firefighter row. Citizens Police Academy (DocumentCenter 49489) is not this officer door. This page covers Flower Mound PD.

The license is TCOLE's. The job is Flower Mound PD's. Those are two gates. The Texas sequence is in How to Become a Police Officer in Texas. The license rules are in TCOLE peace officer license requirements. This page is drawn from the FY 2025/26 PAY PLAN DP, Police Officer Recruit 5442274, Police Officer (Certified ONLY) 5184346, the Town NEOGOV board, TCOLE Statewide Vacancies, and the department listing.

Department listing: Flower Mound Police Department. Pay comparison: Texas police salary by department. That salary page still keeps N=12. Flower Mound's adopted Recruit cell is sourced here and is not yet a row in that table. City hiring guides in this series: Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Frisco, McKinney, Mesquite, Grand Prairie, Denton, Houston, Lubbock, Amarillo, Brownsville, McAllen, Waco, Killeen, Pasadena, Texas City, Pearland, League City, Sugar Land, Carrollton, Lewisville, Richardson, Allen.

What Flower Mound PD actually is

The live department hub is flowermound.gov/2765/Police-Department. That CivicPlus body did not render this retrieval (loader shell). flowermound.gov/150/Police is the Crime Control and Prevention District board, not PD. flowermound.gov/129/Police lands on Fire. The department listing still points hiring at /241/Career-Opportunities, which 301s to /241/Careers. The Careers body also did not render. Google's index of that Careers page reprints Personnel and Recruiting at 972.539.0525. Human Resources on the NEOGOV cards is 972-874-6011 / hr@flowermound.gov. Town Hall: 2121 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound, Texas 75028.

Filled sworn count is unpublished on the officer sources (0). 160 is the about-page line, and that line already says sworn and civilian. Station count, call volume, and founding year are unpublished on the officer sources (0).

The live apply door

Apply on the Town of Flower Mound NEOGOV board. Retrieval is 2026-08-22. Two police cards are open:

The department listing still lists "No open posting recorded" next to $60,000. Both cards are open. That $60,000 is not the pay-plan Recruit cell.

TCOLE Statewide Vacancies does not reprint a Flower Mound Police string this retrieval.

The recruit list and the certified list are both published. They are not the same list.

Google's index of Police Officer or Police Officer Recruit Requirements reprints 21 at the time of application and Recruit (Academy / PTO Training) $78,457.60. That CivicPlus body did not render this retrieval.

21 is Flower Mound PD's hiring line. TCOLE's own floor is 21, or 18 with an associate's degree, 60 semester hours, or an honorable discharge after two years of active service (37 TAC 217.1(b)(1)(A)). Those are not the same measuring point. Read TCOLE peace officer license requirements.

U.S. citizen is Flower Mound PD's hiring line. TCOLE's matching rule is 37 TAC 217.1(b)(17): U.S. citizen, or a legal permanent resident who is an honorably discharged veteran with two years of service and has applied for citizenship.

A Texas driver's license is 5442274's BASIC QUALIFICATIONS line. The same card's Question 17, and the certified card, print a valid state-issued license, or a Texas license within 90 days of residency. TCOLE does not require a Texas license. TCOLE's floor is not prohibited from operating a motor vehicle, 37 TAC 217.1(b)(8).

Recruit on Class A: conviction of a Class A or a greater offense is a bar. TCOLE's Class A bar is conviction or court-ordered community supervision, lifetime (37 TAC 217.1(b)(4), (b)(6)). Only Class B carries the ten-year lookback. Certified 5184346 prints Class B or greater with no lookback. Recruit BASIC QUALIFICATIONS on family violence: convictions. Question 09 on 5442274: convicted or placed on community supervision for family violence. TCOLE bars conviction or community supervision for family violence, 217.1(b)(7). The city line and the TCOLE floor are both published.

The test, PAT as printed

Recruit 5442274 hiring process:

  • Written Examination measuring the ability to learn police information, observation and memory, written communication, reading comprehension, and analytical ability. Held in Flower Mound. Date TBD. A sentence on that same card: invitations to test have been sent on June 25th, and a practice test / study guide notice follows those invitations. That June 25 line sits on a card that opened August 10, 2026.
  • Row Evaluation. Pass at the 50th percentile on standardized normative data charts using the Concept 2 Rower.
  • Interview with Background Investigator
  • Oral Review Board
  • Background Investigation, then a Conditional Offer
  • Polygraph Examination
  • Psychological Evaluation
  • Medical Examination / Drug Screen

Certified 5184346 has no written exam. Its first step is a 2000 Meter/4-Minute Row Evaluation, 50th percentile based on standardized age and gender norms, Concept 2 Rower, then background investigator, oral board, background, polygraph, psychological, medical / drug screen. Complete the Police Training Officer (PTO) field training program after hire.

Pass the row. Not CPAT. Not Flower Mound Fire's PAT.

Google's index of Hiring Process Overview reprints Apply Online, then Written Exam for Police Officer Recruit applicants only. That CivicPlus body did not render this retrieval.

Academy length

Named recruit academy hour count unpublished. 5442274: attend and successfully complete all required phases of basic training through a certified TCOLE academy. Reimburse the Town the full cost of that training and any required inoculations if you separate before the third anniversary of hire. The 10P footnote keeps Recruit pay from academy enrollment through field training. Academy week count is unpublished as a hiring-page figure.

See What to expect at a Texas police academy.

Laterals

Certified 5184346 is the live certified door. TCOLE license in hand, or out-of-state meeting 217.1 at or before the conditional offer. Then PTO. The card points at flower-mound.com/1627 for the lateral transfer program. The live URL is flowermound.gov/1627. That body did not render. Google's index of it reprints Recruit (Certified, No Experience) $37.72 and Certified with 1 Year Experience $39.70. Those two hourly cells are the pay-plan Recruit $37.72 and Officer Step 1 $39.70. The rest of that table is unpublished on the rendered body.
