About Ready to Serve
Ready to Serve is a free career desk for people trying to get hired by a fire department, an EMS agency, a police department or the military. It is published by Ready to Serve Technologies LLC at readytoserve.io.
What the site is for
Every guide on this site answers one question a candidate actually asked: when is the exam, what does the department pay to start, do I need the paramedic licence first, what disqualifies me, what is a shift like. The answers come from the documents the departments themselves publish: pay plans, collective bargaining agreements, civil service notices, job bulletins, city FAQs and annual reports. Where a department has not published an answer, the page says so instead of guessing.
How the desk works
- Documents first. A figure appears on this site only when the employer's own document prints it, and the page names the document and the date it was read.
- Nothing invented. Hourly and monthly rates are not multiplied into annual salaries the employer never printed. Aggregator salary sites are not sources.
- Conflicts named, not averaged. When two documents from the same city disagree, the page prints both and says they disagree.
- Null is a value. A department that publishes no starting salary gets a blank cell and a sentence explaining why, not a number borrowed from somewhere else.
- Dated. Every dataset page and candidate guide carries a "last verified" date, and the department directory carries the read date on each figure.

Independence
No department, agency or training provider reviews or approves a guide before it is published, and none pays for how it appears in one. Ready to Serve offers paid tools to agencies that want to manage their own candidate lists; those tools are described on the agencies page and never change a published figure. Pages hosted for a department, such as the Denton Fire recruiting page at /denton-fire, say plainly that the guides beside them are site-hosted and are not department publications.
Attribution
Articles are attributed to the Ready to Serve Editorial desk as an organization. No individual is bylined on the public site, and no page claims a credential an individual does not hold. If a named specialist ever reviews a page, the page will say who and what they verified.
Corrections and contact
If a figure on this site does not match the document it cites, or the document has changed, write to support@readytoserve.io with the page URL and the source. Corrections are made on the page, with the date, and a figure that is withdrawn is not reprinted while it is described as withdrawn.
