Frisco Firefighter Hiring 2026: Certified FF/EMT
The Recruiting page did not print a dated 2026 entrance window (retrieved 2026-08-19).
Watch that page. Email or call 972-292-6466. The old /186/Fire path redirects to a Contract Postal Unit / NTTA TollTags page, so start at Recruiting.
When the exam runs, it is an online assessment: 100 multiple-choice questions, three hours (FAQ, retrieved 2026-08-19). Then a physical. Eligibility lists, in the city's explanation, are ranked by written score. Frisco uses its own hiring process. The FAQ discusses Chapter 143 as a contrast, not as the current fire system.
Department listing: Frisco Fire Department. Same-city police hiring is How to Become a Police Officer in Frisco. Texas order of operations: how to become a firefighter in Texas. TCFP explained: what is TCFP certification.
What You Need Before You Apply
This is not an uncertified recruit door.
The recruiting snippet (retrieved 2026-08-19) says you must be a certified FF/Paramedic or FF/EMT. Both doors count. Paramedic is not the only door. EMT without a firefighter card is not the door.
Get the cards, then watch Frisco. Texas EMT path: how to become an EMT in Texas. Paramedic path: how to become a paramedic in Texas. Collin College is a way to get the cards. Frisco does not name it as a required first step.
Through the lateral program, new firefighters may be hired up to Step 5 by years of experience (FAQ, retrieved 2026-08-19).
Does Frisco Use CPAT?
The recruiting snippet names a physical with the online exam. It does not say whether that physical is a CPAT card or a department PAT. Specs for the standard eight-event CPAT: CPAT vs firefighter physical ability tests.
Frisco's written is the city's online assessment, not NTN.
How Long Is the Academy?
The recruiting and FAQ pages opened on 2026-08-19 do not print a week count. You bring the certifications.
What To Do While There Is No Dated Window
Hold FF/EMT or FF/Paramedic current. Watch Recruiting. Call 972-292-6466. When a card opens, sit the online 100-question exam.
