National Fire Academy Managing Officer Program
The National Fire Academy's multiyear leadership curriculum for emerging fire-service supervisors. It is free to accepted students.
About This Resource
The National Fire Academy's Managing Officer Program is a multiyear curriculum that introduces emerging fire-service leaders to personal and professional skills. It is a named NFA program, not the FEMA NIMS homepage. NIMS is the incident-management system; Managing Officer is the leadership academy path. Classroom and online NFA courses are free to accepted fire and EMS students. Applications close when the first 500 applications arrive or at the posted deadline, whichever comes first.
How to Use This Resource
Read the Managing Officer program page on usfa.fema.gov. Confirm you meet the current eligibility and application window. Apply only through that NFA page. After you are accepted, complete the sequence NFA lists.
