Pearland Firefighter Hiring 2026: Window Closed
The window is closed. Recruitment says if ApplicantPro does not show a fire job, Pearland Fire is not hiring. This retrieval listed 8 City of Pearland jobs and 0 firefighter, paramedic, or EMT titles. Hiring runs twice a year: January and June. The next dated test is unpublished. Sign up for ApplicantPro email alerts and watch that board. The hub line "No open posting recorded" is not the board; ApplicantPro is.
Do not treat Entry Level Police Officer/Cadet 4191422 as the fire door. That posting went up August 28, 2026 and closes October 6, 2026. It is Pearland Police. Fire is a different application.
Official hub: pearlandtx.gov/departments/fire. Fire Administration / test site 2703 Veterans Drive, Pearland, TX 77584. Fire Chief Lewis Harris, 281.997.5841, lharris@pearlandtx.gov. Hub non-emergency 281.997.5850. Recruit questions: firerecruit@pearlandtx.gov. Department listing: Pearland Fire Department. Same-city police hiring is a different page: How to Become a Police Officer in Pearland. Texas order of operations: how to become a firefighter in Texas. Paramedic path: how to become a paramedic in Texas. EMT path: how to become an EMT in Texas.
The department staffs six stations 24/7 on a 48/96 shift. Recruitment: more staffed stations will be added in the next four years.
What You Need Before You Apply
Pearland hires Firefighter/Paramedics, Firefighter/EMTs (Basic or Advanced), and Paramedics-Only the department sends to a fire academy. It does not hire EMT-only people.
To be invited to test, hold TCFP Basic Structural Firefighter (or IFSAC SEAL) and DSHS EMT or National Registry before the scheduled test date. Upload the cards with the application. In-state: TCFP and DSHS pocket cards with valid expiration. Out-of-state: National Registry and IFSAC Seal. Anyone may apply. People still in academy, and people who skip the upload, are not invited to test.
Paramedic-only is a third door. Recruitment: you attend a fire academy and obtain TCFP within 12 months of hire. All staff are cross-trained Firefighter/EMT or above.
Also printed on Recruitment:
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Online behavioral assessment, written test, physical agility test, interviews, background, NFPA physical, drug screen, and breath-alcohol screening.
- Legal first and last name on the application. Resume covering at least the last 10 years.
Age min and max are unpublished on Recruitment. Older copies of this page used 18-35; the city does not print an age ceiling on Recruitment. Chapter 143 is unpublished on the opened pages.
Does Pearland Use CPAT?
No. Test day is at Fire Administration, 2703 Veterans Drive. Department physical agility test at 1 p.m. the same day. Fail the PAT and you are not invited to interview. Out-of-state interviews are the same day. In-state interviews are in the days after. No make-up dates for the written, the PAT, or interviews. Event times are unpublished. A CPAT card does not skip that PAT.
Specs for the standard eight-event CPAT: CPAT vs firefighter physical ability tests.
How Long Is the Academy?
Unpublished as a week count for firefighter hires. Paramedic-only must finish TCFP within 12 months of hire. Older copies of this page used 12 to 16 weeks; the city does not print a week count for firefighter hires. Alvin Community College is a nearby program, not a required first step on a closed board.
Stations, headcount, and ISO
Two facility counts are published, and they disagree.
Recruitment and the hub: six stations staffed 24/7. The stations directory (served as /departments/fire-wip/fire-stations) opens with Total 8 facilities found. Those eight include Fire Administration and Engineering and Public Works. Hire houses are 1 through 5 and 8:
- 1571 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, TX 77581.
- 6050 Fite Road, Pearland, TX 77584.
- 3207 Yost Boulevard, Pearland, TX 77581.

- 3100 Kirby, Pearland, TX 77584.
- 12255 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584.
Fire Administration 2703 Veterans Drive, Pearland, TX 77584 is the test site, not a hire house. Engineering and Public Works 2016 Old Alvin Road is not a firehouse. Older copies of this page used the hub's 5 stations as the only count, or printed 8 as the staffed count.
Texas Commission on Fire Protection size table (pack, 2026-08-20): Pearland Fire Department FDID 1730, 152 appointed, rank 53. Overlay Pearland Fire Department – OL FDID 12258 is 0. Pearland Fire Marshal's Office FDID 12365 is 7 and is a sibling department, not this page. Older copies used the hub's 130 sworn figure. Do not add the marshal office.
Hub standing sentence: approximately 14,000 calls per year, over 75 square miles, population more than 140,000. Jurisdiction map as of 01/01/2022: 129,600 plus ETJ about 156,400. Print each with its page. Do not invent a 2026 call total.
History on the hub: January 1944 school fire with no department; 1946 volunteer department formed; February 1947 20 members. Recruitment: since 1947 volunteer roots to all-career.
