CAPCE (formerly CECBEMS)
The Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education accredits EMS continuing-education providers and courses. It used to operate as CECBEMS.
About This Resource
The Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) reviews and accredits EMS continuing-education providers and courses. It used to operate as the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for EMS (CECBEMS). CAPCE is an accrediting body, not a course vendor: its site lists accredited providers and courses, including online, live, and virtual instructor-led training. The National Registry and many state EMS offices accept CAPCE-accredited hours toward recertification. Use CAPCE to confirm a course is accredited before you pay for it.
How to Use This Resource
Open capce.org and search accredited providers or courses. Confirm the course is CAPCE-accredited before you enroll. Save the completion certificate with the CAPCE course number. Keep those files for National Registry or state recertification. cecbems.org now redirects to CAPCE; use the CAPCE name on applications.
