Mansfield Fire Hiring 2026: 7 Jobs, None Fire
Mansfield Fire is not hiring firefighters this week. The live apply face is the City of Mansfield Ultipro board. On September 3, 2026 it listed Showing 7 of 7 opportunities. None of those seven cards is Firefighter Recruit, Firefighter-Paramedic, or another fire-operations title. August 29 listed 8 of 8, also with no fire card. Fire Employment is a process hub (selection, minimum qualifications, benefits) with no apply-by clock. HR FAQ: Applications are only accepted for positions that are currently open. This page is a watch-the-board how-to, not apply-now.
The Ultipro job-alert dropdown still lists Firefighter Recruit - FD021 and Firefighter-Paramedic - FD022 as title options. Those are alert labels, not live cards. Set the alert. Do not treat the dropdown as a posting. Apply at Ultipro when a firefighter card posts. City Job Opportunities is the View JOBS face; /jobs and /careers redirect there.
Official fire hub: mansfieldtexas.gov/2005/Fire. The path mansfieldtexas.gov/departments/fire is not the live hub. The Fire-Fighter-Interest-Form-124 still linked from the hub is a 404. Do not submit there. How to Become a Firefighter on the city site redirects to TCFP, not a Mansfield cycle. Department listing: Mansfield Fire Rescue. That live listing is /departments/mansfield-fire-rescue. The path /departments/mansfield-fire-department is not this department. Fire contact on city fire pages: 1305 E. Broad St., Mansfield, TX 76063. Phone 817-276-4790. Fire Chief Michael Ross, 817-276-4777. Re-read 2026-09-03.
The city uses both Mansfield Fire Department and Mansfield Fire Rescue. Those two names are both on the city's own pages. Operations personnel are dual-certified firefighter and paramedic. Texas order of operations: how to become a firefighter in Texas. Hire door is paramedic: how to become a paramedic in Texas. EMT path: how to become an EMT in Texas. Nearby: Arlington, Fort Worth, Dallas.

What are the age, education, and license rules?
Minimum Qualifications for Firefighter/Paramedic: Minimum age 18. No maximum on that page. Older copies of this page and an older department listing used 18-35. That band is not on the live qualifications page or the live hub HTML.

Must have an acceptable criminal history according to the standards set by TCFP and TDSHS. Must not be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle, and must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Must pass a physical, drug screening, as well as a psychological test.
Mansfield Fire is a career dual-role department. Older copies used EMT-only as the hire card. Live hub HTML does not print that certification cell. The qualifications page names DSHS Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic by hire date.

Do I need TCFP and a paramedic card before I apply?
The hire door on /1284 is Certified as Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic by the Department of State Health Services by hire date. TCFP firefighter is not in that requirements list. Message From the Chief: all Operations Division personnel are certified as both paramedics and firefighters. Each ambulance operates as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
Ultipro still names job classes Firefighter Recruit FD021 and Firefighter-Paramedic FD022. Neither is posted this retrieval. Hold the paramedic card if you want this door. TCFP Basic is what Operations already holds; it is not the printed apply-now minimum on /1284.
Does Mansfield use CPAT?
No. The city does not name CPAT on the selection page. Firefighter Selection Process: Physical Agility Test. Then Oral Interview (Panel interview and Chief's interview). Background Investigation. Polygraph Test. Psychological Examination. Medical Examination: prior to appointment, all eligible applicants will be subjected to a physical exam and drug test. Train that Physical Agility Test. Do not treat a CPAT card as a Mansfield requirement.

What should I do while no firefighter card is posted?
Watch Ultipro. Set the job-alert titles Firefighter Recruit - FD021 and Firefighter-Paramedic - FD022. Read Fire Employment and Minimum Qualifications. Hold age 18 (no city max on that page). Finish DSHS Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic if you want the hire door. Train the Physical Agility Test, not CPAT. Do not submit the 404 interest form. Ready to Serve tracks certifications and application materials. It is not the city's apply face.
