MedStar Mobile Healthcare is an administrative governmental agency formed through an Interlocal Government Cooperating Agreement between Fort Worth and 13 other member cities (home page, retrieved 2026-09-03). That home page still says it is the exclusive emergency and non-emergency ambulance provider for Blue Mound, Edgecliff Village, Forest Hill, Fort Worth, Haltom City, Haslet, Lakeside, Lake Worth, River Oaks, Saginaw, Sansom Park, Westover Hills, Westworth Village and White Settlement — 14 named cities including Fort Worth. A February 25, 2025 ordinance post lists Richland Hills among member cities and does not list Fort Worth as a member. An older listing on this site said 15 cities. That same city page is the one that says former MedStar employees receive civil service status. MedStar's February 25, 2025 ordinance post (https://www.medstar911.org/2025/03/02/ordinance-designates-city-of-fort-worth-ems-provider-for-member-cities-as-of-2-25/) paraphrases the dissolving (the city designated itself the licensed EMS provider effective July 1) and says the agreement "will create a civil service structure for EMS operational positions, including telecommunicators." Those are not the same sentence. This listing previously said MedStar merged with FWFD to create Fort Worth Emergency Medical Service; that merger name is not on the city's pages.
