About the Department

The Arlington Fire Department protects the Entertainment Capital of Texas with 265 career firefighters operating from 16 fire stations. The department is nationally recognized for hiring the first female career firefighter in the United States (Judy Livers, 1974) and was a primary responder to the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Arlington FD created the nation's first Metropolitan Medical Strike Team in partnership with the U.S. Public Health Service for chemical and biological attack response. The department holds a prestigious ISO Class 1 rating.

Fire Lieutenant: $117,922-$123,818/yr
